Below are the terms and conditions from our previous show. Please feel free to review them for a general idea of expected Terms and Conditions for Animé LA 20. Please be advised that policies, prices, & other details are subject to change!


ANIMÉ LOS ANGELES 19 ARTIST ALLEY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Event Name: Animé Los Angeles 19

Event Location: 300 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90802  

Artist Alley Location: Convention Center – Exhibit Hall 

Event Dates: January 4th-7th, 2024. 

Load-in and Set-up Hours: Wednesday: TBA 

Open to the Public Hours: 

Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pricing:  $550 and includes the following

  • One (1) 8’x6’ booth
  • One (1) 6’ table
  • Two (2) chairs
  • Artist display sign
  • Two (2) Exhibit Hall badges

Animé Los Angeles will provide one table and two chairs per booth but will not provide electricity or network connection. Please contact Exhibits staff for Convention Center price sheet if additional optional services are needed. 

Animé Los Angeles reserves the right to refuse registration for any reason and prohibit sales at any time. Anything that Animé Los Angeles deems hazardous will be removed immediately. 

Artist must provide a dated California Reseller’s Permit to the Event Sponsor for event dates, which can be obtained from The California Board of Equalization (http://www.boe.ca.gov) and have the document (or copy) with them always while in Artists’ Alley. A digital copy is acceptable; however, it must be easily displayable if requested.

Table spaces are non-refundable. Animé Los Angeles 19 is currently scheduled for January 4-7, 2024, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. In the event this date and or location is changed Animé Los Angeles will make every effort to notify all participants (attendees; Artists; volunteers; etc.) as soon as possible. All registration fees including all fees for Artist space (dealers and artists) will automatically be transferred to the new dates and or location. We are unable to offer refunds. Completing this registration constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms.

Artists that do not check into their table space prior to 10AM on 1/4/2024 will forfeit their table space unless prior arrangements have been made with the Animé Los Angeles.  Check-in and set-up will be available starting 1/3/2024. Specific times TBA closer to the event. 

Names for publications will be in the following format: <Artist/Group Name – Website (if available)> Artists may be listed as a requested nickname/handle.  If no nickname/handle is given, the artists’ first and last name will be used.

Nothing is to be taped, stapled, or glued to the table itself.

Animé Los Angeles is not liable for lost or stolen items belonging to Artist. Artist Alley will have set hours and lock down. Doors will be locked overnight. Artists leave their personal items at their own risk.

Open areas will not be obstructed with Artist goods. Any property occupying walkways will be removed. Artist will be given one verbal warning. Further warnings will result in removal of property and/or forfeiture of table.

Only products produced by the Artist are allowed in Artists’ Alley:

  1. Original self-made artwork (fan art or original characters) that has been made into prints (copies), comics, books, bookmarks, calendars, pins, plushies, T-shirts, keychains, buttons, etc.
  2. Commissioned artwork requested by convention members.
  3. Self-made clothing/costumes, hats, gloves, etc.
  4. Self-published CDs and DVDs
  5. Costume props: after sale, all props must be taken directly to hotel room, car or be peace-bonded immediately.
  6. Styling services for wigs must be performed off-site in a hotel room, studio, etc.

Artist will not sell:

  1. Proxy items / anything sold from another studio.
  2. Bootleg material and/or anything that violates copyright infringement.
  3. Any food or beverage
  4. Mass produced artist items (Item plans that are sent to a company to be created)
  5. Commercial items
  6. Make up or offer wig styling services; services may be paid for in the Event Space but must be conducted off-site.

Before Exhibit Hall opens to the public by 9:30am, Artist and/or Artist Assistant must be onsite each morning and ready to open the table when the Exhibit Hall opens to the public. Artist and/or Artist Assistant must have the table open during all Exhibit Hall public hours. 

Overhead displays must demonstrate stability during all hours of the day, regardless of surroundings. Anything deemed as a safety hazard by the Animé Los Angeles must be corrected or taken down immediately. 

Adult-themed works that include nudity, adult situations, profanity, drugs, alcohol use, and or violence, must be kept out of sight of minors. Portfolios may be kept under the table until requested by adults (18+). Any sale of such items from adults will require a valid government-issued photo ID at the time of purchase and must be issued an opaque dark-colored bag to hold items.

Music at low levels is permitted provided it does not disturb other Artists and does not add to the overall dynamic of the room.

Any behavior not approved by the Animé Los Angeles will first receive one verbal warning. Further warnings may result in forfeiture of table without refund. 

Any complaints and/or disputes between Artists (and/or staff) will be investigated by staff in a timely matter.

Artist MUST comply with convention policy as well as city and state laws. Any violation of the above may result in expulsion from the Event Space without refund and will affect future standing with Animé Los Angeles.

Special Activities and Guests:

Any special activities including but not limited to signings or other special appearances by guests invited by the Artist must be approved in advance by Animé Los Angeles.

Legality:

All Artist and any authorized agents of Artist must comply with the laws of the United States as well as any applicable state or local laws and will obtain any necessary licenses or permits with respect to their activities. Artists agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Animé Los Angeles and the California Anime Foundation, its officers, and volunteers harmless from all claims, injuries, damages, losses or suits including attorney’s fees which may arise out of or in connection with the performance of this agreement. Animé Los Angeles works with content producers and rights-holders to act against the display for sale of any “grey market” or “bootleg” materials and merchandise by Artist.

Animé Los Angeles will comply with a valid takedown notice furnished by a rightsholder, and the Artist must be prepared to provide documentation to establish the legitimacy of any disputed goods.

Animé Los Angeles reserves the right to remove from the convention any Artist at our sole discretion.

Insurance:

Artist agrees to provide their own insurance including extraterritorial coverage, and that it has its own theft, public liability, and property damage insurance. 

Additional Venue Regulations:

Smoking: The State of California does not allow smoking inside public areas.

Per Convention Center policies, no outside food or beverage is allowed in the convention center unless contracted separately with the venue. Artist wishing to sell food and or beverage must contract with the convention center directly after confirming their booth space with Animé Los Angeles. Additional fees apply.

Animé Los Angeles Public Health Policy:

Completion of this Artist agreement constitutes agreement that you will abide with the Animé Los Angeles Public Health Policy as well as any restrictions (proof of vaccination; masking; etc.) that are in place at the time of the event. Please remember there are no refunds.

Animé Los Angeles Policies:

Completion of this Artist agreement constitutes agreement that you will abide with all Animé Los Angeles Policies including but not limited to Non-harassment Policy, Props Policy, etc. Violation of any of these policies may result in immediate ejection from the event with no refund.
