Frequently Asked Questions

Looking for more information about certain aspects of the convention? Below is our FAQ that may answer your questions! We do make regular updates to this page, so please make sure to revisit as needed for updates and additions!

Registration

I want to buy my ticket early but I'm not sure if the price will change before I can. When do pre-registration prices change?

If you visit our attendee registration page, you can see a list of pre-registration prices and the dates they will be valid. We list both our Full Weekend (4-day) sale prices & our Single Day sale prices separately. Those two ticket types can only be purchased at the listed price during those listed dates.

What does Full Weekend mean?

Animé Los Angeles is currently scheduled as a 4-day event, with activities and events starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday. We refer to this length of event days as the “Full Weekend.”

Can I pick up my single day badge early?

Single Day badges will ONLY be sold and available for pick-up (for those purchased in advance) on the day they are valid for (Friday badge on Friday; Saturday badge on Saturday; etc.). You cannot purchase a badge for Saturday and pick it up on Thursday

I keep seeing different terms: Badge; Ticket; Membership. Are these different things?

These are different but common terms that mean essentially the same thing. When you register online in advance (pay for your badge), you will receive a confirmation email from our payment processing vendor (Cvent). We DO NOT mail out badges in advance. To pick up your badge at the convention, you will only need your photo ID.

How do I go about getting a refund for my badge?

Please note there are NO refunds under any circumstances. If after registering (buying your badge) you find you cannot attend, please see the transfer information below. *Completing this registration constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms.*

Animé Los Angeles 20 is currently scheduled for January 9-12, 2025, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. In the event this date and or location is changed Animé Los Angeles will make every effort to notify all participants (attendees; exhibitors; volunteers; etc.) as soon as possible. All registration fees including all fees for exhibitor space (dealers and artists) will automatically be transferred to the new dates and/or location. We are unable to offer refunds.

What do I do if I find out I can’t attend after all

Animé Los Angeles offers an option to help those who register and then learns (before the convention) that they will be unable to attend. Cannot get the time off, you must do something with your family, your unit gets sent overseas… whatever the reason. You can transfer your registration/badge to someone else. You can do it via e-mail from the e-mail address you registered with. Send Registration (‘[email protected]’) your confirmation number, name, address, and the recipient’s name, address, and e-mail address. The last day to request a transfer in advance is Saturday, December 28th, 2024. Transfers will not be accepted after that date.

Do you offer a different rate for children?

One parent or guardian (Legal Parent or guardian over 18 yrs. ONLY – no siblings; other relatives; friends; etc.) may accompany a paid child (6 yrs. – 14 yrs.). ‘Parent in tow’ badges are $35.00 and will only be available at the door. Children under 6 years old do not need a badge.

I don’t want to have my legal name on my badge. What can I do?

When you register, you are asked for your legal name. This is to facilitate your picking up your badge at the convention. If you prefer not to have your legal name on your badge, please list your preferred alternative in the “Badge Name” field when completing your registration. If the ‘Badge Name’ field is left blank, we will put your legal name on your badge.

Will there be any government mandated restrictions during Animé LA?

While we all hope that there will be no restrictions in place at the time of Animé Los Angeles 20, registration constitutes agreement that you will abide with any restrictions (proof of vaccination; masking; etc.) that are in place at the time of the event. Please remember there are no refunds and the deadline for transfers is December 28, 2024. (Deadline date subject to change)

I'm currently having payment issues while registering. What do I do?

In the event you receive a payment failure notice/email. Please do not attempt to resubmit your payment. Processing may last up to 48 hours and repeat submissions of payments may incur extra charges on your card! If you have any further questions, please send an email to [email protected]. As long as you have received a confirmation number/email, you are registered for the event!

Got a water bottle? We got refilling stations!

The Long Beach Convention Center has a number of water bottle refilling stations throughout the venue! Attendees are welcome to bring empty, see-through, drinking containers to use at refilling stations so you can stay hydrated all weekend long!

Attendee Services

What does Attendee Services do?

Attendee Services is our dedicated staff team who will field all of your various questions, inquiries, or concerns during the convention weekend. You can find Attendee Services in the Main Lobby of the LBCC, just to the left of the escalators leading to the Exhibit Hall. Attendee Services is always happy to help you find your way or get you the information you need so you can enjoy your weekend to the fullest!

Can I get physical copies of the schedule?

We will have a limited number of printed out versions of our Program Grid available on a first-come-first-serve basis each day. We also have a digital display of the day’s schedule grid at Attendee Services. You’re welcome to take a photo of the grid if needed.

I'd like to volunteer!

If you are an attendee but would like to volunteer some of your time to help out at the convention, you can speak to our Attendee Services desk about volunteering! They will have you fill out a waiver and go over the volunteer procedures.

Volunteering over a set number of hours will get you ALA Prize Points that can be traded in at the Prize Emporium located in room 203B of the LBCC

ADA Services

What ADA Services are available?

If you are in need of ADA Accommodations, you can visit the Attendee Services desk in the main lobby of the convention center (located in the center of the convention promenade by the Exhibit Hall escalators/stairs).  If you are planning to attend panels or events that have a line queue, please seek a Con Ops or Programming Ops staff member near the front of the line to be placed in an ADA queue for entry into the panel or event room.

I use a cane, walking stick, etc for ADA purposes. What should I be aware of when attending ALA?

If you use a cane or walking stick for ADA purposes, the venue requires that they be inspected upon entry to ensure there are no hidden cavities or compartments.  We will be working with the venue to make sure this process is as quick and frictionless as possible.

I have dietary issues and need to keep specific foods with me. Can I bring these into the con?

The LBCC has a no outside food or drink policy. The venue does provide some vegan & gluten free options to accommodate dietary/health related restrictions. If you need to bring in specific food or drink items for dietary/health related reasons, please check with a security supervisor at any entry point. If there are any issues after that, please speak to a Con Ops member so our Facilities staff can get involved and assist you.

I'm having issues with my ADA accommodations, who should I speak to?

If there are any issues, please speak with a Con Ops staff member so that our team can address and escalate as needed. You can also text our help line (Available closer to the event weekend) to contact our staff and we will inquire further based on your needs.
