Will I have to pay for the hotel room up front?

• • Not at all! You will need to put down a valid credit card/debit card (credit card highly recommended), but unless otherwise stated, your card will not be charged upon reservation. Hotels will do a “pre-authorization” (Not a charge) on credit cards for incidentals when you check in.

Why are there different pricings for the same type of room?

• • Each hotel has specific rates based on the number of occupants inside the hotel room. Please be aware that nightly rates can change based on the number of occupants that you’ve listed for your reservation.

What should I do in regards to parking?

• • Each hotel has specific parking rates and offers for those who are booking hotel rooms within the Animé LA hotel block. Please see our hotels page for parking information.

The hotel block just opened and it already looks like everything is sold out?!

• • It is very likely that, based on the dates you’ve picked for check-in and check-out, there are some nights at a specific hotel that are already booked full. This can make it seem as if the entire hotel block is sold out. That is not the case!
  • We recommend making adjustments to your check-in/check-out dates to see if you can find a room to your liking. 
  • We also recommend turning off the checkbox that says “Show available only”. This will let you see all the hotels in our block and show you what nights may have been sold out at a specific hotel.

If I end up making a reservation but I want to change the dates of my stay, or I can’t find a reservation that covers all the days I’d like to stay, what should I do?

• • Any reservation made can always be changed and adjusted up to a certain date (said date for changes will be listed on the reservation). In the event that rooms become available and you’d like to change the dates of your check-in/check-out, you can make those changes at a later time.

I’m having issues with my pre-existing reservation. What should I do?

• • Make sure to keep a copy of your Passkey confirmation number after making your reservation. You can use this number to manage your existing reservations, or it may be asked of you when a representative is trying to assist you with your reservation.

How do I waitlist a hotel room for ALA?

• • Due to increased demand in rooms this year, we are happy to announce that we are able to provide a hotel block waitlist for our attendees! Adding yourself to the waitlist with a new booking or modifying an existing reservation is simple and painless!
  • When viewing the various hotel options on our booking site, hotels with a waitlist will be marked with a blue icon indicating an available waitlist. If any dates within your desired stay are not available, your information will be added to the waitlist for those specific nights when you complete your booking. (Ex: If Thursday night & Sunday night are sold out, your information will be added automatically to the Thursday & Sunday Waitlists.)  The rooms that do not require a waitlist will officially be booked for you under your information.
  • As soon as rooms become available on your waitlisted nights, your reservation will be automatically updated on a First Come First Served (FCFS) basis! No work on your part will be needed, and you’ll receive an email confirmation as soon as the rooms are added to your booking!

I already made a reservation for some nights that were available but I do want to extend my stay, can I still join a waitlist?

• • In the past, we have always advised attendees to book what they can, and then try to expand their reservation at a later date as cancellations are bound to happen. Now, attendees who have booked some nights but wish to extend their reservation can also join the waitlist by modifying their existing reservation.
  • From your confirmation email, click the link to manage your existing reservation.  On the review page for your reservation, click on “Edit Stay Dates” to select the nights you would like to waitlist. (Nights that are available for waitlisting will be marked with a red ! icon.)
  • After confirming the addition of waitlisted rooms, you’ll see the new room nights added to your original reservation along with “waitlisted“, in red, next to those dates.
  • As it goes with joining the waitlist through a new booking, you’ll be sent a new email to update your current booking information after modifying your reservation. If a room becomes available that meets your needs, your reservation will automatically be updated and a confirmation will be emailed to you!

What happens if I never get the rooms I waitlisted?

• • In December we take all booking reservations and turn them over to the hotels. At that time they will take charge of any changes or details regarding your stay. Any bookings with waitlisted rooms cannot be turned over to the hotels. You will either have to modify your reservation back to only the available dates or cancel your booking.
  • If you wish to keep the rooms that you were able to secure, simply modify your reservation and remove the waitlisted dates.
  • We will do our part to parse out waitlisted rooms before turning reservation info to the hotels, and after that time, you will need to contact the hotels directly for any more changes or cancellations. Please be sure to view your confirmation email for details on cancellation policies or fees where applicable!
