
Zack Davisson is an award-winning translator, writer, and folklorist. He translates globally renowned properties such as Go Nagai’s Devilman and Cutie Honey, Leiji Matsumoto’s Captain Harlock, Queen Emeraldas, and Space Battleship Yamato, Satoshi Kon’s Opus, Gou Tanabe’s Eisner nominated HP Lovecraft’s The Hound and Other Stories and At the Mountains of Madness, and Shigeru Mizuki’s famous folklore comic Kitaro and multiple Eisner Award-winning Showa: A History of Japan.
Zack is also the author of Kaibyo: The Supernatural Cats of Japan, Yurei the Japanese Ghost, and Yokai Stories. He is an essayist for Wayward from Image Comics and writes the yokai/Zen Buddhist comic Narrow Road, as well as providing consulting for comics like Six Million Dollar Man, Empowered, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
In addition, he has lectured on manga, folklore, and translation at colleges such as Duke University, UCLA, and the University of Washington and contributed to international exhibitions at Wereld museum Rotterdam and Art Gallery of New South Wales.
